Make Thunderbird Setup a Breeze!

thunderbirdHi everyone. As always, I hope all of you are doing well. To show our appreciation, we have put together a great tutorial for you.

Email clients can be a pain to setup sometimes. We hope that this tutorial will make it as easy as possible for you to use our service.

An email client, in a nutshell, is an application that allows you to send and receive email from your desktop. Thunderbird is Mozilla’s free, open source email client. It is loaded with features for beginners and experts alike. If you’re looking for a free alternative to Microsoft Outlook, this is definitely the one. I suggest this to many clients on the phone, and you can download it Here. Below you can find the steps necessary to set up this email client.

Step 1:

You’ve just opened Thunderbird for the first time. You’ll see a fairly bare screen that looks like this:Thunderbird-Tutorial-Screenshot-1

You’ll want to click on the “Email” text under “Create a new account.”

Step 2:

The next screen you come to will try and offer you a new email address. This would be fine, but you already have an amazing email service with us. 🙂

Go ahead and click the button on the bottom left that says “Skip this and use my existing email.”

Step 3:

At this point, you’ll need to enter in your information. This will include your name, email address, and email password. Follow the screenshot below for reference. Once this information has been filled out, hit the “Continue” button.

Step 4:

The email client will begin to look up configuration, but you can go ahead and hit the “Manual Config” button at the bottom.

After the “Manual Config” button is clicked, it will bring up some more options as shown below:

Fill these options out (as shown in the screenshot above) and hit “Re-test.” Once you’ve Re-tested, hit “Done.” You should now be at the main window of Thunderbird. Look at the pane on the left hand side of the screen for your email address. You should see “Inbox” sitting right under your email address. Once you click on “Inbox,” you should start to see your email loading into it.
